Affordable Seafood Dishes and Flash Auctions to Promote Local Specialties
Donghae City in Gangwon Province announced on October 23 that it will host the '2025 Mukho Port Seafood Festival' from October 24 to 26 at the Mukho Port Coastal Passenger Terminal Plaza. The event aims to promote the fresh seafood and local specialties of Mukho Port, as well as to revitalize local tourism and the economy.
On the first day, October 24, a special stage at Mukho Port will feature an opening ceremony at 6:00 p.m., followed by congratulatory performances from popular singers such as Shin Yu and Motnani Samhyeongje, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
From October 25 to 26, a variety of interactive events will be held, including a barehanded fish-catching experience, a trap fishing experience, a fishing boat boarding experience, a seafood tasting event, and a karaoke king contest. These activities are designed to offer both tourists and citizens a rich array of sights and entertainment.
In addition, a flash auction will allow visitors to purchase signature local seafood at discounted prices, and a food zone will offer seafood dishes at affordable rates. These initiatives are expected to significantly help promote and expand the market for local seafood products.
Shin Seongdae, Head of the Marine and Fisheries Division, stated, "The Mukho Port Seafood Festival is a great opportunity to widely promote the freshness and flavor of our local seafood and boost sales, while also raising the profile of Mukho Port as the largest port in the Gangwon region and a multifunctional fishing port. We hope this festival will greatly contribute to attracting tourists and revitalizing the local economy."
