Multi-Vehicle Collision on Ugandan Highway Kills at Least 46

At least 46 people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision on a highway in western Uganda, East Africa.

According to Ugandan police on the 22nd (local time), just after midnight, two oncoming buses collided while attempting to overtake another vehicle near Kiriyandongoma Village on the Kampala-Gulu Highway in western Uganda. Two other vehicles following behind were unable to avoid the crash and also collided.


At least 46 people are reported to have died in the accident.


The injured were transported to hospitals in Kiriyandongoma and nearby areas, but the exact number of casualties has not been confirmed.


Police are investigating, considering speeding as the primary cause of the accident.


Deadly traffic accidents are frequent in Uganda, where roads are often narrow.
