At Goryeong Elementary School in Daegaya-eup, Goryeong County, part of the main building was constructed with an exterior wall vulnerable to fire, raising concerns about the safety of students and staff. With 219 million won secured for the repair of the main building's exterior wall, the fire vulnerability will be addressed, and a safer environment will be provided.
At Seongju Middle School in Seongju-eup, Seongju County, 1.67 billion won will be invested to renovate the multipurpose auditorium. This will resolve issues such as cracks and damage caused by aging facilities and the deterioration of indoor air quality, not only improving students' convenience but also enabling the space to be used as a sports and cultural venue for local residents.
Additionally, Sunshim Girls’ High School in Waegwan-eup, Chilgok County, will receive 2.367 billion won for the expansion of its dormitory. This is expected to organically connect learning, daily life, and career planning, thereby improving educational accessibility for female students both within and outside the county and creating a safe and sustainable educational environment.
Meanwhile, Inpyeong Elementary School in Buksam-eup and Janggok Elementary School in Seokjeok-eup, both in Chilgok County, will each receive 155 million won and 202 million won, respectively, to replace classroom entrance doors in the main school buildings. This aims to enhance user convenience and improve safety.
Assemblyman Jeong Heeyong stated, "With the securing of this special grant from the Ministry of Education, essential projects such as the renovation of multipurpose auditoriums, expansion of dormitories, and repair of exterior walls will be promoted, ensuring students' rights to health and learning."
He further added, "Since the start of my term as a National Assembly member in 2020, I have consistently donated a portion of my salary as scholarships to the Goryeong County Education Development Committee, Seongju County Byeolguel Scholarship Foundation, and Chilgok County Hoi Scholarship Foundation. I will continue to do my utmost to secure funding for educational development and environmental improvement, as well as to donate scholarships, so that students can focus on their studies in a better environment."
