According to the county on October 22, the training was organized to strengthen the management of emergency equipment in the area and to enhance the ability to respond quickly in urgent situations such as cardiac arrest.
The training, which lasted 100 minutes, was led by an instructor from the Korea Safety Association and covered the basics of CPR for the general public, methods for managing automated external defibrillators, one-on-one practice using mannequins, and scenario-based drills to prepare for real emergency situations. All participants were issued certificates upon completion.
Aside from mandatory installation sites, a total of 298 automated external defibrillators have been installed in senior centers and public institutions throughout the county. Residents can check the location of nearby automated external defibrillators through the Emergency Medical Portal website or the Emergency Medical Information mobile app.
Park Mira, Director of the Public Health Center, stated, "Automated external defibrillators are vital devices for saving the lives of cardiac arrest patients, so it is essential to use and manage them quickly and accurately. I hope this training, which goes beyond a simple mandatory session and includes repeated instruction for managers, will greatly improve on-site response capabilities in emergency situations."
