In particular, marking the 30th anniversary of the integration of Iri City and Iksan County, the festival will be held in conjunction with the "Small Library Book Festival," serving as a community-wide celebration of reading culture. Public and private small libraries, local and independent bookstores, and volunteer organizations will participate to help spread a citizen-centered reading culture.

The festival will kick off at 6 p.m. on October 24 with an opening ceremony and a band performance. Major programs include: ▲ a book talk by novelist Baek Youngok titled "What Anne of Green Gables Says" ▲ a children's poetry writing contest ▲ a meeting with a picture book author ▲ a Book Road Stamp Tour ▲ reading culture experiences ▲ sand art, magic shows, and busking performances ▲ and a giant coloring book activity.

Author Baek Youngok will give a lecture on "The Power of Imagination in Our Daily Lives," sharing with citizens the positive impact that imagination and creativity can have on individuals and society.

The children's poetry writing contest, organized by the Iksan Small Library Council, will feature awards in 19 categories, including the Iksan Mayor's Award. The event is designed to give children the opportunity to experience the joy of writing and develop their expressive skills.

Additionally, various reading culture corners will be set up, including independent bookstores, reading clubs, and classics. Participants will be able to experience the multifaceted nature of reading culture, not only through the enjoyment of reading itself but also through meetings with independent bookstores, in-depth exploration of classic literature, and reading club activities.

Furthermore, a "Book Rest Area" equipped with beanbags, camping chairs, and an outdoor bookshelf will be created at Yeongdeung Citizens' Park, allowing visitors to read and relax in nature. In addition, the "Book Road Stamp Tour," where participants can complete three missions and collect stamps to receive a souvenir, will add to the enjoyment of the festival.

The Book Festival is open to everyone, regardless of age or gender. For more details, please visit the Iksan City Integrated Library website or contact Yeongdeung Library.

Mayor Jung Heon-yul stated, "The Book Festival is a celebration where citizens can discover the power of imagination through books and enjoy the leisure of literature in nature. We will continue to do our best to promote a reading culture together with our citizens."
