Seocho Residents Sports Festival to Open at Banpo Sports Complex on the 25th with 10,000 Participants

Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo) will host the "2025 Seocho Residents Sports Festival for the Whole Family" at Banpo Sports Complex on October 25 at 9:30 a.m. This event will bring together approximately 10,000 residents, including athlete and cheerleading teams from 18 neighborhoods in the district. Against the backdrop of cool autumn weather, this large-scale festival is expected to become a vibrant gathering where residents share their passion and community spirit.

The opening ceremony will begin with the entrance of each neighborhood’s athlete team, followed by celebratory performances from the Seocho District Taekwondo Demonstration Team and cheerleaders. The main program will feature four official events-tug-of-war, giant ring toss, field curling, and three-person penalty shootout-along with side events such as an OX quiz and a children’s POP-UP rock-paper-scissors game, adding to the excitement on site.

Throughout the venue, a variety of attractions will be available for families, including a VR sports experience center, air bounce, mini Viking ride, monster bikes, a kiddie train, face painting, clown balloon play, and interactive zones. The closing ceremony will feature the awarding of trophies to winners of each event and the overall champion, as well as a prize drawing and the Seo-ri-pul Harmony Plaza, keeping the festive atmosphere alive until the end.

Seocho District will prepare for the large-scale event by keeping a medical support team and ambulance on standby at all times and deploying staff for traffic, parking, environment, and sanitation management at the venue.
