This award is the result of Vice Chairperson Kim's active legislative work, which has been highly praised for contributing to regional development and the improvement of residents' welfare.
In particular, she was noted for her "everyday legislative activities," which involve directly listening to residents in the field and reflecting their voices in policy.
As Vice Chairperson of the 9th Seocheon County Council, Kim Ajin has promoted stability in council operations and fostered a culture of cooperation. As the representative member of the "Fiscal Soundness Research Group," she has led research to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the county's finances. She has also worked to improve resident safety and convenience by proposing practical ordinances, such as the "Ordinance on Promoting Safe Use of Personal Mobility Devices in Seocheon County."
To communicate directly with residents, she has institutionalized the "Open Council Office" and has practiced "on-site communication-oriented legislation" by promptly reflecting civil complaints gathered in the field in her legislative work. In addition, she has taken the lead in resolving local issues and strengthening transparency in budget execution through administrative audits and five-minute free speeches.
Vice Chairperson Kim Ajin stated, "With the determination to find answers closest to the lives of our residents, I have always strived to be present in the field and continue my legislative activities. This award is a meaningful result, as it shows that my efforts have been recognized by the residents. I will remain dedicated to their happiness in the future."
She added, "I will realize politics that brings the council closer to the residents. By finding answers in the field and creating practical politics together with the people of Seocheon, I will work to brighten the future of our community."
A council official commented, "Vice Chairperson Kim Ajin has become a role model for her colleagues through her meticulous and practical legislative activities. This award not only raises the profile of Seocheon County Council but also sets a standard for local legislative bodies."
Meanwhile, the Korea Association of City, County, and District Council Chairs annually presents the Republic of Korea Legislative Service Award to members of 226 local councils nationwide who have contributed to community development and the welfare of residents. This year, in addition to policy achievements, qualitative evaluation criteria such as increased resident participation and on-site responsiveness were emphasized.
