This year, the festival featured even more abundant and diverse programs to mark several significant milestones: the 30th anniversary of Gijang County’s reinstatement, the registration of Jagwangcheon as a local garden, and the 10th anniversary of Jeonggwan-eup’s elevation to town status.
During the festival, a wide range of events took place, including literary and artistic performances, the Jagwangcheon Local Garden Children’s Song Festival, a robotics competition, the Youth Harmony Night (Dalbam Dalcho), Jagwangcheon ecological experiences, a book concert, a county residents’ family walking event, a street parade, science and English experience activities, a lifelong learning and community autonomy expo, and the Jeonggwan Sharing Free Market.
On the first day, October 17, there were performances by participants in lifelong learning programs and a celebratory music show commemorating the 10th anniversary of Jeonggwan-eup’s elevation. On October 18, the program continued with the youth fringe performance “Dream Light Stage,” the street parade, the opening ceremony, and the Youth Harmony Night “Dalbam Dalcho.”
In particular, the “Dalbam Dalcho” performance featured 10 local youth teams and guest singers Cyburger and BE’O, who delivered a passionate show to an audience of more than 4,500 young people.
On the final day, October 19, the festival wrapped up with a county residents’ family walking event, the Jagwangcheon Local Garden Children’s Song Festival, the Jagwangcheon Local Garden Celebration Show, and the closing ceremony. The festivities culminated with congratulatory performances by singers Yang Ji-won, An Somi, and Min Kyunghoon.
Additionally, from October 18 to 19, in front of the Jeonggwan Children’s Library at Witgol Park, programs such as Creative Science Experiential Learning and Gijang Family English Experiential Learning were held. Advanced activities, including “A Walk with Gijangi the AI Pet Dog” and “Gijang Fish Drone Exploration Team,” received enthusiastic responses from both parents and students.
The “Jagwangcheon Ecological Experience Group,” which began operating a week before the festival, helped children understand the ecological value of Jagwangcheon. At author Kim Yeona’s book concert, Mayor Jung Jongbok made a surprise appearance to spend time communicating with the children.
Furthermore, the Jeonggwan-eup Development Council and the festival organizing committee worked together to realize an eco-friendly festival with no waste by setting up “Waste Stations” and running a plogging campaign.
Mayor Jung Jongbok said, “Despite the rainy and inclement weather, I am grateful that so many children, young people, and residents joined us. Thanks to your participation, this festival was able to conclude safely and warmly. We will continue to develop the Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival into one of Busan’s leading ecological and cultural festivals that everyone in the county can enjoy together.”
