The government has allocated 152.1 billion won in reserve funds for the restoration of the National Information Resources Service following the fire.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on October 21 that the Cabinet had approved the expenditure of reserve funds for the swift restoration of national information resources damaged by the fire. This reserve fund, amounting to 152.1 billion won, has been allocated as an essential restoration cost that must be urgently used this year.

Previously, Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety Kim Minjae stated during a briefing on national information resources on October 20, "Since the restoration cost was an unpredictable expense, we decided to proceed with reserve funds," adding, "For systems to be operated by private entities, the government will pay the cloud usage fees, and this portion will be covered by the ministry's reserve funds."

Of the reserve funds, 130.3 billion won will be used to purchase servers and storage for fire restoration and to lease other IT equipment.

For infrastructure restoration, including facility structure diagnosis and reinforcement, and replacement of electrical installations, 15.6 billion won has been allocated. For labor costs related to data analysis and recovery, and support for AP migration as part of national information resources, 6.3 billion won will be used.

The government stated that it will make every effort to quickly restore the national information resource system and minimize inconvenience to the public.
