The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 21st that the number of members in Dong-gu who have joined the "Sharing Hero" group-composed of donors who contribute more than 1 million won-has surpassed 60.
On this day, Gwangju Community Chest of Korea held a plaque presentation ceremony for the "6th Our Neighborhood Sharing Hero" at the Dong-gu Office reception room. The ten participants in the ceremony were: Jeon Okhee, CEO of Geumtap Soneori Gukbap Main Branch; Kim Kyungmi, CEO of Wedding Sidae Co., Ltd.; Park Jeongja, CEO of Mugyeong GNC Co., Ltd.; Park Youngsook, Deputy Director of Cheonhae Senior Welfare Center (Hakdong Christ's Church); Min Jeomnam, Head of the Health Business Division at Dong-gu Office; Kang Cheolwon, CEO of Mansujang Public Sauna; Jeong Jaeseon, CEO of Mansujang Public Sauna; Lee Younghwa, Director of the Bium Museum; Ju Riae, Director of Dong-gu Senior Welfare Center; and Lee Suji, CEO of Gowoon Construction.
"Our Neighborhood Sharing Hero" is a campaign launched by Gwangju Community Chest of Korea from April through the end of the year, aiming to spread a culture of sharing to address local issues such as closing welfare gaps in the community. During the campaign, individuals or organizations who make a one-time donation of at least 1 million won are awarded the "Sharing Hero Plaque."
Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, said, "I sincerely thank all the Sharing Heroes for participating in this warm act of giving," and added, "We will continue to do our best to spread a culture of sharing for a warmer local community."
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, stated, "The collective goodwill of each and every Sharing Hero is brightening the hope of Dong-gu," and continued, "We will work to create a happy welfare community that all residents can truly feel."
Meanwhile, in Dong-gu, Mayor Im Taek became the very first member of the Sharing Hero group. Dong-gu is continuing its efforts to identify candidates with the goal of reaching 100 Sharing Heroes in the district during the campaign period.
