Delivering Culture to Every Corner in Uljin
Establishing Itself as a Cultural Festival in Daily Life
The "Delivering Culture to Every Corner" initiative, promoted by Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province, is bringing the warmth of culture to residents throughout the region.
This project, led by the art group Eomamusi, is not just about simple performances; it is establishing itself as a cultural festival within daily life, created by the meeting of local residents and the arts.

"Delivering Culture to Every Corner" is a mobile program that brings the arts directly to culturally underserved areas, and is gaining attention for its focus on resident-centered cultural welfare.
At the performance held at the National Marine Science Museum on September 28, a variety of stages were presented, including a reinterpretation of the traditional folktale "The Fairy and the Woodcutter" and "Bajige-kun Hanmadang," which reflects Uljin's local identity.
The event was praised for increasing "cultural accessibility," as it provided an opportunity for everyone-from children to the elderly-to laugh and enjoy together.
"Delivering Culture to Every Corner Uljin" will feature the "Uljin Sibi-ryeong Cultural Bajige-kun" performance at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on November 1 at the Uljin Family Center, with another performance scheduled for November 27.
In particular, the November performances will include a variety of programs such as theater, Bajige-kun Hanmadang, trot music, and percussion performances, making it a meaningful event expected to boost the cultural pride of Uljin residents.
A resident of Jukbyeon-myeon, identified as Mr. Kim, said, "I thought cultural events only took place in cities, so I was delighted to enjoy a performance in my own village. It was wonderful to laugh together with my children."
A representative from the art group Eomamusi stated, "We prepared the stage with the hope that the warmth of culture would reach every corner of Uljin, in line with our goal of delivering the arts without cultural exclusion. Through this performance, we could directly feel the laughter and energy of local residents."
County Governor Son Byungbok said, "Following the previous session, this edition of Delivering Culture to Every Corner also brought great joy to both residents and tourists. We will continue to provide support so that every resident can enjoy opportunities for cultural enrichment."
