Dokdo Is Korean Territory
Strengthening the Will to Safeguard Sovereignty
Chilgok Office of Education in North Gyeongsang Province (Superintendent Koo Seoyoung) held a ceremony commemorating the 125th anniversary of Dokdo Day and a Dokdo Protection Resolution Rally on October 20 at the Chilgok Office of Education and the main auditorium on the third floor of the Chilgok County Community Center. The event aimed to reflect on the historical significance of Dokdo and reaffirm the commitment to safeguarding territorial sovereignty.
The purpose of this event was to foster pride in Dokdo as Korean territory, raise awareness of territorial sovereignty, promote a correct understanding of Dokdo, and encourage practical actions that demonstrate love for Dokdo.
Through this event, participants honored the will of Emperor Gojong, who revised Imperial Decree No. 41 of the Korean Empire 125 years ago, and strengthened their determination to protect Dokdo by launching the Chilgok Dokdo Protection Movement.

During the Dokdo Day commemorative event, all staff members of the Chilgok Office of Education wore "Love for Dokdo" T-shirts to work as part of "Dokdo Love T-shirt Day, Uniting as One," reaffirming their commitment to protecting Dokdo. They also completed the Gyeongbuk Office of Education's Cyber Dokdo School training under the theme "Cyber Dokdo Education Together!" In addition, all staff of the Chilgok Office of Education, 29 local teachers, and guest speaker Professor Hosaka Yuji participated in a two-hour special lecture on "The Issue of Dokdo Sovereignty from the Perspective of International Law" and pledged to protect Dokdo.
Koo Seoyoung, Superintendent of the Chilgok Office of Education, stated, "We will take the lead in informing others that Dokdo is clearly Korean territory, and we will do our utmost to provide unwavering support at the Chilgok Office of Education to enhance the ability to make objective and logical arguments regarding Dokdo sovereignty."
