Theme: "Wearing Hanbok Properly, Enjoying Hanbok Naturally"
The Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation in North Jeolla Province announced on October 21 that it will host the "2025 Hanbok Culture Week - Hanbok Blooming in Gochang" event at the Gochang County Traditional Arts Experience Village from October 24 to 26.
This event is part of the nationwide Hanbok Culture Week planning program, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation. Under the theme "Wearing Hanbok Properly, Enjoying Hanbok Naturally," the event aims to promote the spread of Hanbok culture in everyday life.
The main programs include five pre-registration activities: Hanbok etiquette education, Hanbok accessory making, Five-Colored Blossoms at Your Fingertips (natural dyeing), Hanbok with Fragrance, and Our Family Fragrance Workshop. In addition, ongoing programs such as Hanbok and traditional games, family Hanbok photo shoots, and booth exhibitions at the Traditional Arts Experience Village will be available.
A special performance, "Autumn Concert Where Tradition Meets Modernity," will be held in front of Pungyojae on October 25 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The first part will feature PROST's popera ensemble, while the second part will present TURON's Asia World Music performance, offering the audience a harmonious blend of traditional and modern music.
Notably, the event will offer free Hanbok rental services throughout the entire period for the convenience of participants. Both adults and children can rent Hanbok for free at Sorijae, allowing visitors without their own Hanbok to comfortably wear and experience it. For more details, please visit the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation website or Instagram.
Jo Changhwan, Executive Director of the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, "This Hanbok Culture Week will serve as an opportunity to connect the Gochang County Traditional Arts Experience Village with Hanbok culture and develop it into a leading local cultural content. I hope families, friends, and couples will wear Hanbok together and create special memories in Gochang's beautiful traditional spaces."
