Hana Bank Expands "Direct Overseas Remittance" Service to Indonesia

Hana Bank announced on October 21 that it has launched the Indonesia "Direct Overseas Remittance" service on "Hana EZ," its multilingual overseas remittance app.

Hana Bank's "Direct Overseas Remittance" service allows users to open accounts and send money overseas non-face-to-face, in 16 different languages, anytime and anywhere through the "Hana EZ" app. The service has been continuously expanded to countries with large foreign resident populations, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. With this launch, Indonesia has been newly added to the list of available countries.

This new Indonesia "Direct Overseas Remittance" service is linked to Indonesia's local BI Fast transfer system via the "Hana EZ" app, enabling direct remittances to 128 local banks in Indonesia, including Hana Bank Indonesia, without the need for intermediary banks.

In particular, the entire process-from remittance to receipt-takes place in real time, just like a domestic transfer. Users can verify the validity of the recipient's account before sending money, and after the transfer, they can check the transaction status in real time within the app.

To commemorate the expansion of the "Direct Overseas Remittance" service to Indonesia, Hana Bank is holding a promotion offering preferential exchange rates and fee discounts until September next year.

During the event period, Indonesian nationals who use the "Hana EZ" app to send direct remittances to Indonesia will receive a 40% preferential exchange rate and a 2,000 won discount on remittance fees. In addition, recipients at Indonesian banks will benefit from a 50% reduction in receiving bank fees until the end of this year.

An official from the Foreign Exchange Business Division at Hana Bank stated, "We expect that the expansion of the direct overseas remittance service to Indonesia will further enhance the convenience of financial transactions for our foreign customers. As Korea's leading foreign exchange specialist bank, we will continue to do our best to provide differentiated financial services and a variety of benefits for our foreign customers."
