Samsung Exynos Confirmed for All Galaxy S26 Models... Six Times the AI Performance of Apple Chip

Samsung Electronics will begin mass production and supply of its proprietary mobile application processor (AP), the Exynos 2600, next month and will equip the Galaxy S26 series with it. The Exynos 2600 has been measured to have more than six times the artificial intelligence (AI) capability compared to the AP installed in the iPhone 17 series.

Samsung Exynos Confirmed for All Galaxy S26 Models... Six Times the AI Performance of Apple Chip

According to industry sources on October 20, the System LSI Business Division of Samsung Electronics has completed development of the Exynos 2600 and will begin mass production and supply in November to install it in Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series.

The Exynos is Samsung Electronics’ proprietary mobile AP, designed by the System LSI Business Division under the DS (Device Solutions) segment, which is responsible for the company’s semiconductor business, and mass-produced by the Foundry Business Division (semiconductor contract manufacturing).

According to internal tests at Samsung Electronics, the Exynos 2600’s neural processing unit (NPU) performance, which is critical for generative AI such as large language models (LLM), is reported to be more than six times higher than that of Apple’s proprietary mobile AP, the A19 Pro.

Compared to the A19 Pro, the Exynos 2600’s multi-core central processing unit (CPU) performance is 15% higher, and its GPU performance is up to 75% better in certain benchmarks.

For multimedia playback performance, such as video playback and gaming, the Exynos 2600 outperforms not only the A19 Pro but also Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation. The Exynos 2600 delivers 30% higher NPU performance and up to 29% higher GPU performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation.

Some in the industry predict that the Exynos 2600 will also be installed in the Ultra model, the highest-end model of the Galaxy S26 series. If this happens, it will mark the first time in four years that an Exynos chip is featured in the top-tier model of the Galaxy S series.
