Jeong Cheolwon, the governor of Damyang County in South Jeolla Province, participated on the 20th in the "Relay Support Challenge" wishing for the success of the "2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo."
On this day, Governor Jeong joined the support relay to encourage nationwide interest and participation in the expo and to express his hopes for its successful hosting. He nominated Kim Hanjong, the governor of Jangseong County, as the next participant in the challenge.
For this expo, the county will participate with nine representative Namdo restaurants, four K-FOOD industry halls, and three gourmet road venues. Through a promotional booth in the Gourmet Culture Hall, Damyang plans to promote the modernization of traditional cuisine and food culture based on local specialties, thereby strengthening its position as a gourmet tourism destination. Additionally, on weekends and holidays, Damyang is holding tasting events featuring its signature foods, offering visitors a variety of local flavors and attractions.
Governor Jeong emphasized, "This expo is an important opportunity to showcase the diverse food culture of Namdo both domestically and internationally, and to widely promote Damyang's appeal as a gourmet tourism destination. Damyang County will actively participate to ensure the successful completion of the expo and will do its utmost to cooperate for regional co-prosperity."
