Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 20th that it promoted a "Population Increase Campaign" around Yeongsan River Cultural Park on the 19th. This campaign focused on promoting various policies designed to encourage settlement in the region and attract new residents.
The campaign was held in conjunction with the "Small Coexistence, Harmony Market" event, which was organized by the Damyang County Grassroots Community Support Center. The county introduced major population and youth policies to local residents and tourists who visited the event, and actively promoted a range of benefits available to those who change their address to Damyang.
To support settlement in the region, the county is implementing a variety of policies, including: providing pantry packages to newly arrived households, issuing youth cultural welfare cards, offering marriage congratulatory payments to young couples, supporting housing, and granting basic birth allowances.
A county official stated, "We will do our utmost to develop and promote multifaceted policies so that the resident population can increase, based on the construction of public rental housing and the creation of quality jobs."
