Video Titled as a K-Pop Demon Hunters OST Parody Posted
Netizens Praise the Air Force for Its Creative Promotional Video
A promotional video released by the Republic of Korea Air Force, parodying the song by Lion Boys featured in K-Pop Demon Hunters, has become a hot topic. On the 19th, the Air Force posted a video titled "ROKAF-Launch Pop" on its official YouTube channel. The video is a parody of "Soda Pop" by Lion Boys, the original soundtrack of the Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters. The Air Force added a wordplay twist by replacing "Soda" with "Launch" ("Sso-da" in Korean, meaning "to launch"), giving the song a new meaning.

The Air Force’s reinterpretation of Sodapop cheerfully layers intense artillery firing and explosion scenes over a refreshing melody. Shells explode throughout the video, and the repeated "bang" sounds create an immersive atmosphere, as if you are in the middle of a battlefield. Especially during the "My Little Sodapop" lyric section, missiles are launched, followed by a series of full-scale explosions. Netizens who watched the video commented, "My taxes are being well spent," "There are so many AI-generated videos these days, but this one feels more personal since it’s handmade," "So that 'Soda' was actually 'Sso-da' (Launch)," "Even though it’s just edited from training footage, the impact is different," and "Are the singers called Sso-ja Boys (Launch Boys)?" In addition, there was praise for the officer who made the video. At the end of the video, the name of First Lieutenant Lee Hanse appears as the editor. Netizens also commented, "There are many talented officers in the Air Force," and "I look forward to First Lieutenant Lee Hanse’s next video."

This is not the first time the Air Force YouTube channel has showcased its witty sense of humor. Last year, when singer BIBI’s "Bamyanggaeng" gained popularity, the Air Force produced a parody video titled "BOMByanggang," which also drew attention. In the video, "Bamyanggaeng" (a type of sweet bean jelly) was playfully changed to "Bomb-yanggaeng," and scenes of bombs dropping and fighter jets appearing were edited to match the rhythm, making viewers laugh. That video was produced by Captain Kim Yonghui and Sergeant Kang Dongjae. Comments included, "The person who planned this deserves a vacation," "While everyone was obsessed with 'Bamyanggang,' the Air Force showed us the real 'Bomb-yanggaeng,'" and "Editor, I hope you continue your service for a long time."
