On October 20, Gwangju and Jeollanam-do will experience a significant drop in temperature and strong winds due to the influence of a cold continental high-pressure system, resulting in lower perceived temperatures.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the region will come under the influence of a cold continental high-pressure system expanding from northern China over the West Sea. From early morning, strong winds and very high waves are expected in the southern part of the West Sea, with the possibility of a high seas warning being issued.
The morning low will range from 6 to 13 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high is expected to be between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius. From early morning, winds over the West Sea will reach speeds of 70 km/h (20 m/s), and waves will rise as high as 3.5 meters. The concentration of ultrafine dust is expected to remain at a 'good' level.
An official from the Meteorological Administration advised, "Temperatures will drop significantly, and strong winds will make it feel even colder, so please take care of your health in response to these rapid temperature changes."
