The Najuho Trail has officially opened in its entirety.

Naju City held an opening ceremony for the Najuho Trail at the pedestrian bridge square (San 237-3, Bangsan-ri, Dado-myeon) at 3 p.m. on the 17th. The event was attended by over 200 people, including Mayor Yoon Byungtae of Naju and Lee Jaenam, Chairman of the Naju City Council.

The newly opened Najuho Trail spans a total length of 8 kilometers, consisting of Section 1 (4.4 kilometers from the KEPCO KPS Human Resources Development Center to Nokyawonn) and Section 2 (3.6 kilometers from Jungheung Resort to Dado Mining Office).

Since 2021, Naju City has invested a total project cost of 11 billion won to develop this premium walking course, which harmonizes forest and lake, and completed the project in just over four years.

In particular, after partially opening a 6.4-kilometer section in July this year, the city incorporated citizen feedback by enhancing amenities such as deck paths, rest areas, and restrooms. Following a comprehensive safety inspection of the entire trail, the city has now officially opened the full route.

The opening ceremony included a progress report, commemorative remarks, congratulatory speeches, and a group walk along the trail. After the ceremony, participants enjoyed the autumn atmosphere by joining a "healing walk" on part of the trail.

In his commemorative address, Mayor Yoon Byungtae expressed his hope that the Najuho Trail, where the forest and lake blend together, would become a leading healing destination for citizens and serve as a multifaceted resource to boost local tourism and the economy. He also pledged to further develop the trail into Naju's premier tourist attraction by connecting disconnected sections and adding facilities such as a local specialties market and a suspension bridge.

Najuho is a natural lake covering 859,508 square meters (2.6 million pyeong), which accounts for about 30% of Dado-myeon's area. It is renowned for its clear water and beautiful natural scenery.

With the opening of the trail, Naju City is preparing to transform into a comprehensive healing tourism destination by linking the trail to various nearby tourist resources.

Along with the Najuho Trail, the city is expanding tourism infrastructure such as the Yeongsangang National Garden, Najucheon Ecological Waterway Park, the 120-kilometer Yeongsangang Bicycle Path, the Namdo Volunteer History Park in Gongsan-myeon, and the Companion Animal Theme Park in Geumcheon-myeon, accelerating efforts to realize its vision of "Naju, a city of 5 million tourists."
