KB Financial Group announced on the 19th that it dispatched a delegation to 'GITEX Global 2025,' which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 13 to 17.
This event is the world's largest information and communications technology (ICT) exhibition, hosted by the Dubai Digital Economy Authority. More than 6,500 companies, investors, and institutions from over 180 countries participate.
The delegation, led by Changkwon Lee, Head of Digital and IT Division at KB Financial Group, met with local venture capital firms, investment companies, and others to gain insights into local technology investment trends in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, blockchain, and cybersecurity. The delegation also visited relevant Dubai government agencies to share digital finance innovation policies and discuss global cooperation strategies.
At a joint exhibition booth with the autonomous driving startup 'Autonomous A2Z' and the AI-based global satellite and geospatial analytics company 'Space42,' the KB Financial Group delegation discussed ways to support the growth of advanced industries and startups and to promote investment from a productive finance perspective.
In addition, the delegation exchanged broad opinions on the potential for mid- to long-term cooperation with key officials, including representatives from the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), established by the Dubai government, and Dubai Silicon Oasis. Topics included digital asset regulatory policies, smart city innovation ecosystems, and strategies for fostering technology companies.
The delegation also attended the largest startup exhibition in the Middle East, which provides investment and networking opportunities for promising startups from around the world, to explore further collaboration opportunities.
KB Financial Group plans to strengthen the foundation for supporting the commercialization of innovative technologies and the global expansion of startups by linking the global startup network established through this delegation with the group's startup incubation program, 'KB Starters.' A KB Financial Group representative stated, "Based on the insights into the latest technologies and the network with the local investment ecosystem gained through this visit, we will continue to expand global cooperation and technological connections to realize productive finance."
