Worker in His 40s Falls at Mandeok-Centum Urban Expressway Construction Site in Busan

Fell 8 Meters Into Sump and Transported to Hospital

At approximately 3:25 p.m. on October 18, a workplace accident occurred at the construction site of the "Mandeok-Centum Urban Expressway" in Haeundae District, Busan, when an electrical room manager in his 40s, referred to as Mr. A, fell into a sump located 8 meters below.

Mr. A was rescued immediately after the fall and transported to a hospital for treatment. It has been reported that his life is not in danger.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the working conditions at the time of the accident and whether proper safety measures were implemented.

Meanwhile, the Mandeok-Centum Urban Expressway is Busan's first deep underground road, with a total length of 9.62 kilometers and four lanes for two-way traffic. Construction is underway with the goal of opening in early next year.
