Gangseo District in Seoul Signs Economic Exchange Agreement with Fergana City, Uzbekistan

On October 17, Gangseo District in Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyohoon) signed a friendly economic exchange agreement with Fergana City, Uzbekistan, and will engage in mutual cooperation to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expand overseas sales channels and boost exports.

The signing ceremony was held that afternoon at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea, attended by Jin Gyohoon, mayor of Gangseo District, Bozarov Khairulla, governor of Fergana, and a delegation from Fergana Province, totaling more than 20 participants.


Through this agreement, the two cities will collaborate in a wide range of areas, including economic and trade cooperation between local companies, personnel exchanges, support for entering overseas markets, and the promotion of investment attraction. Notably, four SMEs from Gangseo District with high potential for entering the Uzbek market also attended the ceremony, held business presentations, and discussed practical cooperation measures to expand joint business and exchanges.


Fergana City is the representative city of Fergana Province and serves as a key industrial hub in Uzbekistan, with developed sectors such as oil refining, chemicals, and textiles.


Jin Gyohoon, mayor of Gangseo District, stated, “With Gimpo Airport and COEX Magok located within the Magok MICE Complex, many international business representatives are visiting Gangseo District for global events. I hope that through this agreement, the two cities will maintain and further develop their friendly relationship, and achieve mutual growth in economic exchanges and various other fields.”
