President Donald Trump of the United States announced on October 17 (local time) that he is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping soon.
In an interview with Fox Business reported that day, President Trump said regarding the possibility of a U.S.-China summit, "I will meet President Xi within two weeks."
It has been reported that President Trump and President Xi are highly likely to make consecutive state visits to South Korea on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in Gyeongju at the end of this month.
Regarding his relationship with President Xi, President Trump stated, "I get along with him very well," adding, "I think things will work out with China. However, a fair agreement is necessary."
On the 100% tariff imposed on China, President Trump said, "That is unsustainable," but added, "However, that is the number. They (China) made me do it."
President Trump also stated that the 'Abraham Accords,' which normalize diplomatic relations between Arab countries and Israel, will soon be expanded, and he expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would participate in the agreement.
The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements brokered by the United States in which four countries-the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan-agreed to establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
