Dami Selected as Official Sponsor of 2025 APEC Summit Week
Connecting Tradition and the World with "K-Pottery"
Dami, a traditional ceramics brand born from the soil and fire of Mungyeong, has been selected as an official sponsor for the 2025 APEC Summit Week, emerging as a leading force in globalizing Korean ceramic culture.
Following its participation as an official sponsor of the "APEC Cultural Industry High-Level Dialogue" in August, Dami has once again been named an official sponsor for next year's summit, where 21 member economies from the Asia-Pacific region will gather. The brand has established itself as a representative of traditional wood-fired kiln ceramics infused with a modern sensibility.
During the APEC Summit Week, scheduled to be held in Gyeongju this October, approximately 20,000 participants-including heads of state, delegations, business leaders, and journalists-are expected to attend. Dami Co., Ltd. plans to showcase the "Aesthetics of Tradition’s Flame and Earth" on the global dining table through its lifestyle ceramic tableware sets and art ceramic pieces, all fired with Mungyeong’s wood flames.
Companies selected as official sponsors will be announced on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ "APEC 2025 KOREA" official website and will be granted the right to use the official emblem, modeled after Treasure No. 2010 "Face Tile End," for corporate promotion until June 2026.
Through this, Dami has established a foundation to become a symbolic brand of cultural diplomacy.
Dami is gaining attention for its lifestyle ceramics, which reinterpret the natural colors and textures of wood-fired flames in a contemporary style.
Since officially launching the brand in September last year, Dami has pioneered a new market for Mungyeong ceramics under the philosophy of "harmonizing artistry and practicality."
CEO Kim Seonsik is a master potter of Gyeongsangbuk-do Intangible Cultural Heritage (Blue and White Porcelain) and a ceramic artist continuing a 300-year-old family tradition.
He stated, "It is meaningful to share Mungyeong’s ceramic culture, imbued with the breath of wood-fired flames and the vitality of earth, with the world," adding, "Taking the APEC Summit as an opportunity, we will establish Korean lifestyle ceramics as an independent 'K-Pottery' brand within the global cultural industry."
This sponsorship is seen as more than simple support; it is evaluated as a case that simultaneously demonstrates the diplomatic expansion and industrial potential of Korean traditional culture.
The flame of Mungyeong is rising as a symbol of dignity in global diplomacy.
Dami Co., Ltd.'s sponsorship of APEC is a representative scene in which a ceramic artist’s passion has been elevated into a regional industry and, further, into a national cultural brand. An era has begun in which "tradition in daily life" becomes a language of diplomacy on dining tables around the world.
