The police have launched an investigation into a member of the Seoul Dongdaemun District Council and staff who are suspected of inflating airfare expenses for overseas business trips.
The Seoul Dongdaemun Police Station announced on October 17 that it has booked 19 members of the Dongdaemun District Council and 13 staff members on charges of occupational breach of trust and is currently investigating them.
They are accused of claiming approximately 30 million won more than the actual cost for airfare reimbursed for overseas business trips over the past three years.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
