The Ministry of Justice has decided to implement measures at Incheon Airport to provide warnings to citizens departing for Cambodia, in response to a recent increase in cases of employment scams and illegal confinement occurring locally in Cambodia.
On October 17, the Ministry of Justice stated, "Through these measures, we expect that citizens will be able to recognize and prevent the risk of falling victim to crimes even before departure," adding, "We will strive to minimize harm to citizens related to overseas employment and travel."
When citizens departing for Cambodia pass through the Ministry of Justice's automatic immigration exit gates, visual warnings-such as guidance messages or videos-are displayed on the monitor to inform them of potential risks.
At manned inspection counters, immigration officers also distribute a 'Notice on Precautions for Visiting Cambodia' to citizens departing for Cambodia.
In cooperation with airlines, the notice will also be handed out at the boarding gates, and instructions will be provided on how to report emergencies should they arise.
