Hwasun County, South Jeolla Province, announced that it successfully held the opening ceremony for the special exhibition "Time of Origin" on October 16 at the Hwasun County Choi Sangjun Art Museum, located in Dongguri Lake Park, Hwasun-eup.

This exhibition reflects on the ecological crisis facing modern society and the essence of human existence through art, raising questions about restoring the fundamental relationship between humans and nature. Participating artists Sukbin Kim and Hyungo Park each presented works on the themes of environment, life, and healing, using their own distinct artistic languages.

Artist Sukbin Kim delivers a warning message about human greed and environmental destruction through works utilizing plastic, FRP, and various objects. In contrast, artist Hyungo Park's "Time of Bliss," composed of natural materials such as hemp cloth, hanji (Korean traditional paper), and gardenia dye, creates a tranquil space where the breath of nature lingers, expressed through light and texture.

This exhibition is designed to go beyond simple visual appreciation, allowing visitors to directly experience the emotions and meaning of existence at the intersection of humanity and nature. Running until January 11 of next year, this special exhibition represents a new initiative by the Hwasun County Choi Sangjun Art Museum to explore the value of "sustainable cycles of life" through contemporary art.

The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 figures from the art world, including Ho Beom Lee, Deputy Governor of Hwasun County; Geon Tak Oh, Chairman of the Gwangju Art Award Steering Committee; Ok Ja Moon, Honorary Professor at Honam University; Kwang Gu Park, President of the Gwangju Art Association; Ik Yoon, Director of the Gwangju Museum of Art; faculty from Chonnam National University and Chosun University; and representatives of local cultural and artistic institutions.

The venue was filled with lively discussions and deep interest in the artworks, along with congratulations on the opening. The artists guided visitors through the exhibition, personally explaining the intentions and production processes behind their works, while attendees resonated with the meanings and messages embedded in the pieces.

Visitors expressed admiration for the profound messages and sensory installations, praising the exhibition by saying, "The harmony of light, video, and materials allows you to feel the breath of life."

Kang Samyoung, Head of the Culture and Arts Division, stated, "The 'Time of Origin' exhibition is a meaningful project that reaffirms the value of environment and life through art," adding, "We will continue to present high-quality exhibitions that resonate with both residents and visitors."

The museum is closed every Monday, and admission to the exhibition is free. Opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
