Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province completed the remodeling of the Nomulli Senior Center in Yeongdeok-eup and the Samhwa 2-ri Senior Center in Jipum-myeon, both of which suffered damage from the North Gyeongsang wildfire that occurred at the end of March. The completion and plaque ceremonies were held on October 15, 2025.

This remodeling project was carried out by linking the "The Happy GBDC House" initiative of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation with the "Dream House" project, a 2025 public facility support program for wildfire-affected areas run by the Warm Companion Social Welfare Foundation.

Based on this successful public-private partnership, the Nomulli and Samhwa 2-ri senior centers, which had been closed since the wildfire, were remodeled both externally and internally. As a result, they have been transformed into more comfortable and safer community spaces and shelters for residents than before.

During this process, Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and Warm Companion provided a total of 150 million won in restoration funds. Residents expressed their gratitude for the swift restoration of their community spaces.

Approximately 50 people attended the completion and plaque ceremony, including Kim Kwangyeol, Mayor of Yeongdeok County; Bae Jaehyun, Vice Chairperson of the County Council; county and provincial council members; Lee Jaehyuk, President of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation; Lee Gwangjae, Executive Director of Warm Companion; and local residents, celebrating this new beginning together.

Mayor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "This remodeling of the senior centers is a significant step in restoring the precious daily lives of residents affected by the wildfire and in rebuilding the bonds and hope of our local community. We will do our utmost to build a better community by emulating the valuable dedication and mutual trust shown through the public-private cooperation between Gyeongbuk Development Corporation and Warm Companion for the good of our society."
