The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on October 17 that it will host the '2025 APEC Finance and Structural Reform Ministers' Meeting' at the Inspire Resort in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, from October 21 to 23. The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yooncheol. Under this year's APEC summit theme, 'Building a Sustainable Tomorrow,' the agenda will focus on the role of innovation, finance, fiscal policy, and structural reform in responding to the acceleration of the regional AI and digital economy, demographic changes, and industrial transformation.

This meeting will be attended by ministers from 11 economies, including Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Taiwan. China and Japan will be represented by vice ministers, while the United States will send a deputy assistant secretary. Yoon Jeongin, head of the APEC Finance and Structural Reform Ministers' Meeting Task Force, stated, "This is the first time that the finance ministers' meeting and the structural reform ministers' meeting are being held in conjunction," adding, "When ministers responsible for both finance and structural reform issues gather to discuss, it will maximize synergy."

On the first day, the finance ministers' meeting will take place, with discussions on topics such as the global and regional economic and financial outlook, digital finance, fiscal policy, and agenda items for next year's finance ministers' meeting. On the second day, a joint session of finance and structural reform ministers will be held under the theme of 'Innovation and Digitalization,' covering topics such as productivity improvement based on artificial intelligence (AI), changes in labor market structure, and measures to vitalize innovative finance. Afterward, there will be a joint luncheon between the finance and structural reform ministers and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). In the afternoon, the main session of the structural reform ministers' meeting will discuss the role and future direction of structural reform, as well as ways to improve market and business environments. On the third day (October 23), the agenda will include realizing economic potential and strategies for sustainable growth.
