On October 17, Seo Beom-su, a member of the People Power Party, criticized, "It is regrettable that the Democratic Party unilaterally refused to adopt Lee Jin-sook, the former Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, as a witness," adding, "This undermines the very purpose of the parliamentary audit."
During the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee audit that day, Seo stated, "I simply cannot understand the Democratic Party," and added, "There is a saying that those who hide are the culprits."
Seo pointed out, "I requested the voluntary appearance of the chief of Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul and the head of Investigation Division 2, both of whom are related to this case," and continued, "However, upon checking, it turns out that they did not attend the audit."
Seo further stated, "Seeing that incumbent police officers did not show up, I feel that the world has changed a lot," adding, "It raises suspicions that it was not the will of the individuals themselves, but rather that they were instructed by someone not to attend."
