Korea Deloitte Holds Tax and Trade Seminar for Japanese Companies

Held Online, With Participation from Local Representatives in Japan

Korea Deloitte Group shared strategies for responding to changes in tax and trade-related policies and environments with Japanese companies.


On the 17th, Korea Deloitte announced that it had held the "2026 Korea Tax and Trade Issues Seminar" online the previous day.


The purpose of the seminar was to share changes and the latest trends in the domestic tax environment, as well as to analyze trade and tariff policies and response strategies. More than 200 participants attended the online event, including executives, finance, and accounting personnel from both Japanese companies operating in Korea and their headquarters in Japan.


The seminar consisted of three sessions: ▲Key points of the 2026 revised tax law ▲Recent trends in tax audits ▲Changes in global trade patterns and corporate response strategies.


In the first session, Partner Kim Myungkyu introduced important amendments in the 2026 revised tax law that Japanese companies need to be aware of. In the second session, Partner Lee Sungjae explained the direction of tax audits by focusing on the national tax administration plan and presented recent trends based on national tax statistics analysis. He also highlighted real-life issues that have arisen during tax audits. In the third session, Partner Shim Jongseon explained the importance of monitoring tariff rates, provided cases of responding to and actively utilizing anti-dumping duties, and suggested strategic directions to minimize tariff burdens.
