Yeonggwang County in South Jeolla Province has extended the application period for the second round of Livelihood Economic Recovery Support Fund, which provides 500,000 won to all residents, by two additional weeks until October 31.

For the second round of the Livelihood Economic Recovery Support Fund, 24.6 billion won was distributed to 49,230 people between September 1 and October 15. However, the number of applicants was lower compared to the first round.

The county confirmed that some residents were unable to apply due to being away from home, or because they confused the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon with the application period (September 22 to October 31). As a result, the application period was extended to ensure that all eligible residents can receive the benefit.

Those who have not yet applied among the 50,540 eligible residents for the second round are still able to apply. To qualify, residents must have maintained their address in Yeonggwang County continuously from the payment reference date, December 27, 2024, until the application date. Residents will be excluded if, after the reference date (December 28, 2024), they move out, pass away, have their registration canceled, or are reported as having an unknown residence.

The support fund will be provided through the Yeonggwang Love Card and can be used at any affiliated local business with annual sales of 3 billion won or less until June 30, 2026. Any unused balance after this period will be automatically forfeited.

Application methods remain the same: residents can apply in person at their local township or town office, or online through the "Geureogo" app.

Jang Seil, Mayor of Yeonggwang County, stated, "We decided to extend the application period to prevent cases where eligible residents miss out on applying for the support fund due to work or absence. We hope that the Livelihood Economic Recovery Support Fund will provide meaningful assistance to stabilize the lives of our residents."
