Thorough Inspection of Inter-Agency Collaboration System and VIP Movement Routes Ahead of APEC
On October 16, Pohang City, together with Korea Airports Corporation and related agencies, conducted the second rehearsal of the CIQ (quarantine, immigration, and customs) system at Pohang Gyeongju Airport in preparation for visits by global CEOs.

This rehearsal was carried out as a comprehensive simulation based on the scenario for the actual day of the APEC event, with a particular focus on checking the collaboration system among relevant organizations and the speed and safety of VIP movement routes.
During the first rehearsal, the overall movement routes and basic processes within the airport were reviewed. In this second rehearsal, more sophisticated procedures were applied to address operational issues and discuss improvement measures.
The city plans to complete the final system verification through the last rehearsal on October 21 and finalize preparations to ensure there are no disruptions during actual operations.
An official from Pohang City stated, "This rehearsal is not just a simple check, but an operational review at a real-world level, which will further enhance the reliability of Pohang Gyeongju Airport and elevate the city's status."
Ha Yongjin, Director of Pohang Gyeongju Airport, said, "We will do our utmost to ensure that global CEOs using the airport can move without inconvenience by thoroughly checking security, movement routes, and services."
