Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province has partnered with the Jeonnam Western Branch of the Korea Gas Safety Corporation and MC Energy Co., Ltd. to launch a social contribution initiative aimed at improving residential safety and welfare for energy-vulnerable groups.
On the 15th, the county announced that the three organizations had signed a "social contribution activity agreement" at the county office. Under this agreement, a total of 100 million won will be invested from this year through 2027 to improve gas safety facilities and living conditions at social welfare centers and in the homes of vulnerable households.
The main initiatives include strengthening gas facilities by replacing gas pipes and installing leak prevention devices, as well as making practical improvements to living environments such as providing refrigerators and washing machines and reinforcing insulated windows.
The division of roles has also been clearly defined. Yeongam County will be responsible for selecting the facilities and households, the Korea Gas Safety Corporation will handle the distribution, inspection, and maintenance of safety devices, and MC Energy will provide funding and support for improving living conditions.
Woo Seunghee, Governor of Yeongam County, stated, "Through the collaboration of these three organizations, we will eliminate blind spots in energy welfare and enhance the safety of our residents. We will do our best to ensure that necessary support is provided promptly."
Meanwhile, MC Energy Co., Ltd. is a leading energy company in the western region of South Jeolla Province and has consistently engaged in social contribution activities such as supporting heating and cooling equipment and volunteering at social welfare facilities.
