Samsung Life Insurance is launching a campaign to prevent voice phishing crimes, which have recently emerged as a major social issue.
On October 16, Samsung Life Insurance announced that it has designated October as Voice Phishing Prevention Month and will roll out the 'Voice Phishing STOP Campaign' at Customer Plazas nationwide to protect customers from financial fraud.
The campaign consists of several financial consumer protection activities: employees will provide voice phishing prevention materials to customers visiting the Customer Plazas; practical guidance on how to respond to actual cases will be offered; and consultants will give customers refrigerator magnets with voice phishing prevention tips during consultations.

In October of last year, Samsung Life Insurance became the first in the insurance industry to establish an abnormal financial transaction detection system (FDS) that detects suspicious transactions in real time, proactively preventing financial incidents such as voice phishing.
The company also regularly operates the 'FDS Governance Council,' which includes key departments, to develop countermeasures and continue its efforts to protect financial consumers.
A Samsung Life Insurance representative stated, "Voice phishing is not just a financial fraud but a social problem that undermines customer trust," adding, "We will continue to carry out a variety of activities to protect financial consumers."
Meanwhile, on September 25, Samsung Life Insurance held the '1st Financial Consumer Day' event to raise awareness of the importance of consumer protection and reaffirm its commitment to customer service. Going forward, the company plans to designate the third Thursday of every September as Financial Consumer Day within the company, striving to realize the values of 'fair sales, trusted insurance, and safe finance.'
