Set to Join the Corporate Advisory Group
On October 16, law firm Lee & Ko announced the appointment of Kim Seogon, former Director of the Economic Security Bureau at the National Intelligence Service, as an advisor.
Advisor Kim Seogon graduated from the Department of Metallurgy at Sungkyunkwan University and earned a master's degree from the same university's Graduate School of National Strategy. Over his 30-year career at the National Intelligence Service, he served in various roles, including at the Industrial Secret Protection Center, as the officer in charge of the defense industry sector, and as Director of the Economic Security Bureau, establishing himself as an expert in industrial security and economic security.
In particular, Advisor Kim played a leading role in establishing national technology protection policies, such as enacting and revising the Act on Prevention of Leakage and Protection of Industrial Technology and the Defense Industry Technology Protection Act. He has experience providing industrial security consulting and personal information protection advisory services to companies and research institutes possessing national core technologies, as well as to defense industry companies, and supporting overseas exports of defense materials.
Advisor Kim will join Lee & Ko's Corporate Advisory Group and support various consulting work. Lee & Ko expects that, with the addition of Advisor Kim Seogon, the Corporate Advisory Group's capabilities will be further strengthened by providing customized services related to national core technologies, defense technology security and compliance risks, and hacking response.
