Daegu Hyeonpung Middle School Staff Member Cha Gaeun Wins Grand Prize in National Writing Contest Dikasi Competition

Daegu Hyeonpung Middle School (Principal: Lee Jeongyeol) announced on the 16th that staff member Cha Gaeun has won the Grand Prize at the 7th National Writing Contest, "2025 Dalseong, Colored by Poetry," a digital poetry (Dikasi) competition organized by the Dalseong Education Foundation and Dalseong County Library.

Dikasi is a compound word of "digital camera" and "poetry," referring to a new literary form that combines photographs with short poems or sentences.

Cha previously won the Grand Prize at the 2nd National Writing Contest in 2020, "Currently Traveling in Dalseong," a travel essay competition, and has once again demonstrated her literary talent with this consecutive award.

This award is especially meaningful as it was achieved by expressing everyday scenes poetically in a new genre that combines new media and literature-Dikasi. The 7th National Writing Contest was open to elementary, middle, and high school students as well as adults nationwide, and the awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 30th at Dalseong County Office.

Cha said, "I usually focused on essays and travel writing, but recently, under the influence of our principal, who has a rich poetic sensibility, I have come to encounter poetry more often and have developed an interest in it. I am delighted to have won the Grand Prize in Dikasi following my previous Grand Prize in travel writing."
