Basic Program to Strengthen Counseling Competencies
The Department of Youth Counseling and Education at Cheongwoon University announced on the 17th that it will run the "Basic Training Program for At-Risk Youth Mentoring" every Monday until the 10th of next month, targeting 25 current students and local residents.
This program is being implemented as part of the Chungnam RISE Project and is designed not only for current students but also for local residents. Its goal is to foster professionals who possess a proper understanding of at-risk youth and professional mentoring capabilities.
In particular, a special lecture by Lee Cheol-i, the head of Cheongnohoe, a social welfare corporation, is highly anticipated. Lee has been working for over 30 years in the Hongseong area to support at-risk youth, elderly people living alone, and other marginalized neighbors.
Professor Park Jisoo, head of the Department of Youth Counseling and Education, stated, "This program is a great example of Cheongwoon University, as a central university in the region, collaborating with the local community to nurture practical youth support personnel." She added, "Following the 'Know Yourself and Others' program, which focuses on strengthening parental competencies, this initiative further deepens our cooperation with the community."
Meanwhile, Cheongwoon University, as a participating university in the Chungnam RISE Project, is recognized for its significant contributions to nurturing local talent and solving regional issues through a variety of educational programs linked to the local community.
