High-Quality Imaging, Reduced Examination Time, and a Patient-Friendly Environment
The Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Institute (Director Lee Changhoon) has introduced and begun operating the latest artificial intelligence (AI)-based MRI equipment to strengthen early diagnosis and precision examinations in response to the increasing number of patients.
The Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Institute held an inauguration ceremony for the operation of the latest AI-based MRI. Provided by the Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Institute.
The newly introduced equipment is the 'Philips Ingenia Elition X 3.0T,' a high-performance premium MRI model equipped with AI technology.
This new equipment significantly improves image quality compared to previous models and features an AI-powered automatic patient positioning system and acceleration technology, which can greatly reduce examination time. In addition, it is equipped with a patient-friendly audio and video system to help alleviate anxiety during examinations and provide a comfortable environment.
Choi Hyunwook, Chief of the Department of Radiology, stated, "This equipment addresses the limitations of existing MRI systems and has significantly reduced patient discomfort during examinations. AI technology removes noise generated during image acquisition and predicts and supplements missing data to produce complete images, thereby shortening examination time. Furthermore, deep learning minimizes image distortion, which is expected to enable highly accurate diagnoses."
The Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Institute plans to continue introducing the latest medical technologies and equipment in the future to expand patient-centered precision diagnostic services.
