[2025 National Audit] National Assembly Industry Committee Adds Hyundai Engineering CEO and Others as Audit Witnesses

Regarding Delays in Settlement of Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant Construction

On October 16, the National Assembly's Industry, Trade, Energy, Small and Medium Venture Business Committee additionally selected two business leaders, including Joo Woo-jung, CEO of Hyundai Engineering, as witnesses for the 2025 National Audit.


At its plenary session on the same day, the committee passed an agenda item requesting the additional attendance of witnesses for the audit, designating CEO Joo and Kim Gwi-beom, CEO of Changwon Gijeon, as witnesses.

CEO Joo and others are scheduled to be questioned at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's comprehensive audit on October 24 regarding issues such as the delayed settlement of the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) construction project in Savannah, Georgia.


The committee has also selected Chung Yong-jin, Chairman of Shinsegae, as a witness for the comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The committee plans to question Chairman Chung on security issues, including the current status of consumer information protection on online platforms.
