First Public Exhibition of Donated Paintings and Crafts
Anticipation for the Advancement of the Local Art Scene
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) will hold the "2025 Seokdang Art Museum Special Donation Exhibition: Welcome! ART" from October 21 to November 30 at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Seokdang Art Museum on the Bumin Campus.
This exhibition will showcase, for the first time, paintings and crafts donated to the Seokdang Art Museum over the past three years, highlighting both the artistic worlds of the creators and the intentions of the donors.
In the painting section, works such as "Red Canna" (2018) by Park Mikyung, which expresses the pure beauty of flowers, and "She" (2007) and "What I Hope For 1, 2" (2002) by the late Ok Jiseon, a Dong-A University graduate, will be unveiled.
Visitors will also be able to see "Sea and City" (2025), a series by Yeo Geunseop featuring symbols of Busan, and "I Just Watched..." (2020) by Kim Eunseon, which uses mixed media to express inner desires.
In the crafts section, works by Dong-A University Honorary Professor Han Jangwon and the late Woo Dongmin will draw attention.
Han Jangwon donated "Image" (1982), which was awarded in the crafts category at the 1st Korea Art Exhibition, while the late Woo Dongmin's work was donated last year by Son Eunkyung following a retrospective exhibition.
The exhibited work "Untitled" (1986) is an early piece created using a celadon technique with a yellowish hue, reflecting the artist's experimental spirit by combining natural beauty and formative aesthetics beyond the traditional framework of white porcelain.
Lee Seunghye, Director of the Seokdang Art Museum at Dong-A University, said, "We deeply appreciate the valuable intentions of all donors, and we hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to promote a culture of donation and advance the local art scene. We invite all citizens to show great interest and visit the exhibition."
The exhibition is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on Mondays. The last admission is at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, and inquiries can be made to the Seokdang Art Museum at Dong-A University.
