KOSDAQ-listed company MoaLifePlus announced on October 16 that it has secured a new growth engine for global market expansion by making a full-scale entry into the Japanese cosmetics market, which is valued at approximately 6 trillion won.
MoaLifePlus has signed a supply agreement with DHOLIC COMMERCE, a leading K-beauty e-commerce platform in Japan, and will simultaneously launch its products on major Japanese online shopping malls such as Rakuten, Qoo10, and Yahoo Japan Shopping.
According to its official website, DHOLIC COMMERCE is a K-beauty specialized e-commerce platform in Japan, with annual sales of about 150 billion won, 4.8 million monthly visitors, and over 2.3 million members. Through this entry, MoaLifePlus expects not only to expand its reach to Japanese consumers and enhance brand awareness, but also to achieve tangible sales growth.
MoaLifePlus is an R&D-based bio company that has focused its business on patented high-functionality ingredients such as poly-gamma-glutamic acid (PGA). Recently, the company has been transitioning into a brand business, manufacturing and selling finished cosmetic products using its proprietary ingredients.
To this end, in Korea, the company launched 'PGAMALL,' an influencer-based consignment shopping mall, to diversify its own distribution channels. For offline expansion, it signed a brand promotion and product supply agreement with Yewon Global H, which operates the functional cosmetics brand 'Beauty Romance,' thereby securing stable sales outlets. The company's entry into Japan is seen as an extension of these online and offline distribution strategies, and is expected to be a key turning point in strengthening MoaLifePlus's global competitiveness and profit structure.
In addition, MoaLifePlus plans to further expand product supply to Japanese offline stores operated or partnered with DHOLIC COMMERCE, and is currently applying for trademarks in Japan. By expanding its offline distribution channels, the company aims for comprehensive market entry in Japan and is accelerating efforts to secure intellectual property (IP) to strengthen its brand assets.
A MoaLifePlus representative stated, "Entering the Japanese market is expected to be a significant milestone for MoaLifePlus in terms of global sales growth and brand value enhancement," adding, "Based on securing distribution channels both domestically and internationally, we will achieve substantial sales growth and strengthen our position in the global K-beauty market."
