The "Student Horse Riding Support Project" consists of a total of 10 sessions, offering a systematic curriculum from theory classes to getting familiar with horses, leading horses, and basic riding. The program is operated by the experienced Western Springs, and all participants are required to enroll in insurance to prepare for any possible accidents.
To encourage greater student participation, the city has reduced the personal expense share from the previous 30% (96,000 won) to 20% (64,000 won). Students from low-income families, those in the next-lowest income bracket, and multicultural families, who qualify for the public interest riding program, can participate free of charge.
Students wishing to participate can apply online through the Hospia website until the 22nd. Participants will be selected fairly through a random draw, not on a first-come, first-served basis, and the results will be individually available on the same website on the 23rd. The actual riding experience is scheduled to take place from the end of this month through December.
Shin Kihwan, head of the Livestock Division, stated, "Horse riding is a special experience where students can interact with horses in nature," adding, "I hope this unique outdoor activity will help students build physical strength and relieve academic stress."
