Following Industrial Accident Insurance Support, 100,000 Won Subsidy for Health Checkups
Seoul's First Case of Cardiovascular Health Checkup Support for Delivery Workers
Mapo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Kangsu) is set to fully implement the "2025 Mapo-gu Platform Delivery Worker Support Project" to protect the health rights of platform delivery workers and prevent industrial accidents. Last year, Mapo-gu became the first district in the city to provide support for industrial accident insurance premiums for delivery workers. This year, it will be the first in Seoul to offer financial support for cardiovascular health checkups.

Last month, the district revised the "Seoul Metropolitan City Mapo-gu Labor Basic Ordinance" to establish the necessary institutional framework. On the 24th of the same month, it signed a business agreement with Seoul DMC Health Clinic (179 Seongam-ro). Under this agreement, delivery workers can receive a cardiovascular health checkup, valued at approximately 200,000 won, for just 100,000 won. The district will reimburse up to 100,000 won per person, effectively making the checkup free. The same level of support applies when using other medical institutions.
In addition, Mapo-gu will provide up to 100,000 won per person to help purchase safety equipment such as helmets, body cameras, black boxes, protective gear, and heated grips. However, applicants must choose to apply for either the health checkup support or the safety equipment support, not both.
The district will also continue its support program for industrial accident insurance premiums for delivery workers. From November this year to October next year, Mapo-gu will provide cash support for 90% of the worker’s share of industrial accident insurance premiums, up to a maximum of 100,000 won. Eligible applicants are delivery workers who are registered residents of Mapo-gu and have registered with the Mapo Job Placement Center. Applications can be submitted to the Employment Cooperation Division of Mapo-gu Office until the 31st of this month.
Mayor Park Kangsu of Mapo-gu stated, "It is meaningful to be the first in Seoul to implement a support program for cardiovascular health checkups for delivery workers. Protecting the lives and safety of workers is our most important task, and we will continue to actively support the prevention of industrial accidents and the creation of a healthy work environment."
