Haeundae Bumin Hospital to Hold Health Class on "Understanding and Preventing Dementia"

Lecture by Minjung Park, Chief of Brain and Nerve Center, for Local Residents on October 22

Haeundae Bumin Hospital (Director Kang Daehwan) will hold a health class for local residents on the topic of "Understanding and Preventing Dementia" at 3 p.m. on October 22 in the hospital's main auditorium.

In this health class, Minjung Park, Chief Neurologist at the Brain and Nerve Center, will serve as the lecturer and provide easy-to-understand explanations on the following topics: the main causes and risk factors of dementia, early symptoms and diagnostic methods, treatment and cognitive rehabilitation, and lifestyle habits for prevention (including exercise, nutrition, and brain-stimulating activities).

Dementia is a representative degenerative brain disease that is rapidly increasing in aging societies, making early diagnosis and consistent management more important than ever. However, because early symptoms are often subtle or mistaken for normal aging, it is essential to have accurate information and manage lifestyle habits for prevention.

Director Kang Daehwan stated, "Haeundae Bumin Hospital continues to promote a variety of health education and prevention-focused activities to help local residents maintain their own health," adding, "We hope that this health class will help spread accurate awareness of dementia and lead to practical prevention efforts."
