Seongjusan Autumn Foliage Festival, Oseosan Silver Grass Hiking Festival, and Cheongra Ginkgo Village Festival
A Collection of Healing Destinations Overflowing with Autumn Atmosphere
From October to November, Boryeong in South Chungcheong Province is transformed by the vibrant colors of autumn foliage, golden silver grass, and yellow ginkgo leaves.
The "Boryeong Autumn Three Colors Festival" unfolds throughout the city, offering citizens and tourists alike a chance to recharge their spirits in nature.
According to the city on October 16, Boryeong will host a series of diverse festivals that fully capture the essence of autumn. The red foliage of Seongjusan, the silver grass of Oseosan, and the yellow ginkgo leaves in the Ginkgo Village of Cheongra-myeon come together to create "Boryeong's autumn, where nature takes center stage."
The 22nd Seongjusan Autumn Foliage Festival will be held on October 25 around the Seongju Culture & Welfare Center.
The festival features a variety of programs, including a pungmul-gilnori (traditional Korean percussion parade), community-led activities, local unity games, singing contests, and performances by singers.
On the eve of the festival, October 24, a memorial service for victims of the coal industry will be held. There will also be hands-on experiences for the whole family, such as a foliage train ride, a folk painting exhibition, and a children's autumn foliage drawing contest.
On November 1, the 7th Boryeong Oseosan Silver Grass Hiking Festival will take place at the Seongyeon parking lot and the silver grass colony on Oseosan.
The hiking event features a trail from Seonggol to the summit, along with community sports competitions, festive gatherings, and prize draws. From the summit of Oseosan, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the West Coast and the Boryeong sea, while the wind-blown silver grass amplifies the autumn atmosphere.
From November 1 to 8, the 11th Cheongra Ginkgo Village Festival will be held in the Ginkgo Village area of Janghyeon-ri, Cheongra-myeon.
With the theme "With You, Yellow Ginkgo Village Autumn Foliage Festival," this event offers a variety of hands-on programs, such as woodworking experiences, a Ginkgo Village trail stamp tour, and walking programs. There will also be a tourism-themed free market, a fall concert by the Korean Folk Art Association, and busking performances.
The Ginkgo Village, where yellow ginkgo leaves form a golden carpet, is the perfect destination for an autumn getaway filled with emotion.
Boryeong Mayor Kim Dongil said, "The three-colored autumn scenery created by the foliage of Seongjusan, the silver grass of Oseosan, and the ginkgo leaves of Cheongra is the most beautiful stage to showcase Boryeong's natural wonders. I encourage everyone seeking the essence of autumn travel to visit Boryeong."
