"Predicting Heart Failure Recurrence with AI"... YejiX Secures Seed Investment

Kakao Ventures and Schmidt Join Investment
"Predicting Patient Outcomes to Improve Hospital Operations"

Medical artificial intelligence (AI) startup YejiX announced on October 16 that it has secured seed investment from Kakao Ventures and Schmidt. The terms and amount of the investment were not disclosed.

YejiX was founded by Jeong Sunghyun, the former CEO of Promedius, who commercialized South Korea’s first osteoporosis AI solution. Before joining Promedius, CEO Jeong led global business development at Lunit, successfully pioneering overseas markets for the medical AI company.

"Predicting Heart Failure Recurrence with AI"... YejiX Secures Seed Investment

YejiX is focusing on heart failure, which has the highest readmission rate among all diseases. Based on a “multimodal foundation model” that analyzes both patients’ electronic health records (EHR) and medical imaging, the company has developed an algorithm to predict the risk of readmission within 30 days for heart failure patients. This technology helps hospitals accurately identify high-risk patients before discharge and manage them intensively.

CEO Jeong stated, “Our goal goes beyond simply diagnosing diseases; we aim to predict patient outcomes using AI, thereby making a tangible contribution to improving hospital operational efficiency and profitability. With this investment, we will further advance our technology and lay the groundwork for entry into the U.S. market.”
