Today’s House announced on October 16 that, fueled by interest in the ‘Nobel Prize in Literature’ and the ‘Text Hip’ trend, searches related to reading have increased by up to 200% over the past two months.
According to Today’s House, search terms related to books have risen two to four times compared to the same period before. In particular, searches for bookstands have surged, including standing bookstands (135%), foldable bookstands (200%), mini bookstands (186%), and bookstand cushions (200%).
Searches for reading lamps have also increased. Notably, there has been a breakdown by type, such as portable reading lamps (125%), clip-on reading lamps (233%), and standing reading lamps (350%). Searches for timers (141%), bookends that support books to prevent them from falling (400%), and magazine racks (400%) have also shown a significant rise. The number of photos searched under ‘book’ or ‘reading’ reached approximately 300,000.
A representative from Today’s House stated, “The trend of not just reading books, but also recording and sharing the activity to express personal tastes, will continue to grow stronger,” adding, “We plan to introduce a variety of products and content that will further enrich the reading experience.”
