This training aims to enhance the safety of these facilities, which are increasing due to the expansion of electric vehicle adoption and the mandatory installation of charging facilities, as well as to improve the safety capabilities and response skills of facility managers.

The training will be conducted in two sessions, each with 250 participants.

The first session will take place at 3:00 p.m. on the 17th in the main conference room on the first floor of Bundang District Office, and the second session will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 5 in Hannuri Hall on the third floor of Seongnam City Hall.

Firefighters from Seongnam and Bundang Fire Stations will lead the sessions, covering topics such as the characteristics of electric vehicle fires, initial response procedures, and reporting guidelines.

Participants will also receive a guidebook that includes a facility inspection checklist, considerations when designating charging zones, and action guidelines for responding to electric vehicle fires.

A city official stated, "Safety accidents can be reduced and quickly responded to if there is awareness and prevention in advance," adding, "This training will provide practical help at the field level."

As of June this year, there were 13,430 registered electric vehicles in Seongnam (3.45% of the total 389,018 registered vehicles), and 8,980 electric vehicle chargers installed in the area.

The city maintains a cooperative system with Seongnam and Bundang Fire Stations to ensure immediate response in the event of a fire. In addition, it is implementing support projects for electric vehicle fire prevention facilities, such as fire detection sensors and fire suppression blankets, for public use facilities that apply for assistance.
